TIMBER STACKING SITES AND SUDING

ACCOMMODATION AT HOKITIKA. The Canterbury Progress League has received the following letter, dated Feb. 16th. from the General Manager of N.Z. Railways at Wellington (Mr R. W. McVilly): “With reference to your representations regarding timber stacking sites and siding access to the Railway at Hokitika, I have t.ie honour to inform you that these matters have been the subject of close investigation, and the necessary plans in connection with the proposals are now in the course of preparation, and will he completed as expeditiously as possible “The importance of providing the increased accommodation is fully recognised by the Department, and every effort will be made to have the work put in hand as soon as possible.”
