Li addition to Connell’s farm nea, Skibberecn, cabled earlier, an armed gang of civilians visited a neighbour, Sweetnam, and enticed him outside, telling his wife that he would soon return. Sweetnam was shot and rushed into the kitchen. One of the gang fol lowed him and shot him again fatally. The same reason was given as in Connell’s ease. ■*
Military at Blackwater, in Clare, tired a volley at a number of youths who refused to halt when called upon. Two brothers, aged eighteen and fourteen, were' killed.
AN AMBUSH SPOILT. LONDON, Feb. 20. A detachment of the Hampshire Regiment surprised Republicans preparing an ambush at Lisgooliably near Enniskillen. A desperate running fight followed, in which eight Republicans were killed and two soldiers wounded. THE MURDERED MAN. LONDON, Feb. 20. The man found in the carriage of the Irish mail train at Willesden Junction, was a brother of the ex-slierriff of Cork. He' received a threatening letter some time ago, accusing him of espionage. HEADQUARTERS CAPTURED. LONDON, February 20 The military forces have discovered the headquarters of the Republican Army in South Frederick Street, in Dublin. They secured there a number of important documents.
, SHOOTINGS IN CORK. > LONDON, February 20. A party of Hampshire Regiment surprised some armed civilians in a hous< at Middleton (Cork). The civilians broke up into parties. Some took positions in the garden. Others fired back from the house, A fight followed lasting two hours. Thirteen of the civilians were killed and eight of them were taken prisoner including three wounded men. Only one soldier was wounded.
MORE SHOOTINGS. ('Received This Huy nt 8.30 n.m.) LONDON, Fob. 21. Armed men attacked ten soldiers at Kilkenny. Two rebels were killed. An unarmed civilian was severely wounded.
