PRIME MINISTER AT WESTPORT

WESTPORT, Feb. 18

The Prime Minister was met to-day at Inangahua Junction by a large number of representatives of the Duller Progress League, including heads ot all local bodies in Westport, and given a most cordial reception. He met some deputations including one on the Muller Gorge railway, which pressed for speedy completion of the line. . a ter, as they were coming down the gorge, the Prime Minister was taken to one of the mines just off the roadside, where a coal face 27 feet in thickness is being worked. The speakers were the Mayor (Meiizies), Mr Mclntyre (Chairman of the County Council), Mr Holland, and Mr Hudson, M.P’s. The Prime .Minister dealt with local i and Imperial questions, and at the ' conclusion was recorded a most hearty vots of thanks on the motion of Mr G. A.S.R.S. WELLINGTON, Feb. IS. The triennial conference id the A.S.R.S. concluded its deliberations to-day. The following officers were elected : President: Mr W. Sullivan (Hillside). Executive Council: T. Glasgow Auckland), E. J. Carr (Auckland), J. Cameron (Wanganui), J. MeDougall i Wellington), M. Connelly (Greyniouth) T. Stokes (Addington), J. Eliott (Lyttelton), A. Charles E, Wheeler was reappointed by the A.S.R.S. as editor of the ‘‘Railway Review,” Tlie conference passed the following motion:—“That this conference or the A.S.R.S. disapproves of the utterances of the Chancellor of the University (Stout) in connection with the appointment of the Rev J. K. Archer, who, as tutor of the Workers’ Educational As- ■ -iation taught, among the philosophies, Marxian theories.”

His wounds were not serious and it is expected he will receiver in the course of a few days. A hospital report received last night stated that Low’s condition was not serious.
