MORE OUTRAGES. (Received this day at 8 a.m.) LONDON, Feb. 18. Mrs Lindsay, widow, and landowner at Coach ford and her ohaffeur, were kidnapped by an armed party. Tlie bodies of five civilians were found in a field near Bandon. The military searched the houses in tho vicinity and shots were heard. •
PATROL ENCOUNTERS. (Received This Day at 8.40 a.m.) LONDON, February 17. A military patrol encountered armed civilians in Kilbritain. 'Shots were exchanged. Four civilians who were killed, w e re armed with service rifles. The military suetained no casualties. A search in the vicinity revealed a large quantity of ammunition. Civilians fired on a patrol in Monaghan. A search resulted in the capture of nine armed civilians and a quantity of ammunition. THE CORK BURNINGS. (Received This Day’at 10.40 a.m.) LONDON Feb. 18. The hearing has commenced of the first of GO2 claims for compensation arising out of the burning of Cork on Dec. lltlt. The owners of Muster Arcade are claiming £405,000 sterling and are calling witnesses to show the Crown Forces are responsible. TRISH UNIONISTS. (Received This Day at 10.35 a.m.) LONDON, Feb 18. The Executive of the Irish Unionist alliance has issued a statement declaring Southern Unionists will be obliged to bold aloof from the Southern Parliament, which must necessarily be a Separatist or powerless. The only alternative for Southern Ireland is independence and the maintenance of Legislative union.
