‘HIS BIRTHRIGHT” TO-NIGHT. Bollards will present to patrons Sessuc Hnynkawa and his wife, Tstiru Aoki in the Haworth’s tense feature drama ‘■His Birthright.” A Japanese atmosphere has been cleverly contrived as a background for the opening scene.*' of “Ills Birthright,” the latest Haworth feature starring the Oriental actor. There is, perhaps, no actor, American or Oriental, who possesses the same remarkable capabilities of expressing emotion. The story is of a type one has come to expect of Hayakawa ;' one of Oriental revenge—of a man who gave bis life to tracking the American who left his Japanese wife to despair and suicide, leaving behind her a son, a half-caste and therefore a pariah to both races. The capital serial “Smashing Barriers” "ill also be advanced a further stage.

ST LEON’S CIRCCS. The star turn offered by the St Leon’s Circus, which will visit Hokitika on Monday m-xt is Cm acrobatic act of the Five St Leons themselves. These acrobats have appeared in their present act before royalty throughout the entire uoriel. They have come from a generation of circus performers and possess a natural aptitude for aerobatic work. Each one has trained himself or herself along special lines, so that a remarkable* variation has been developed, not one artist duplicating the work of another. In Sau Francisco last year, the second brother was selected by Professor Masndo ,a physical culturist, as the most perfect specimen of manhood. The act, which occupies over thirty-five minutes, has been received enthusiastically wherever presented, and is probably unique in the annals of circus history’. Gold a, the sensational wire artist, who makes her New Zealand debut with the St Leon’s Circus, was a performer with the Universal Film Company jn California in a serial dealing with' life under the Big Top. She risked life and limb on innumerable occasions in order to collaborate "kh Eddie Polo, the star, in providing the world with countless thrills. Her da intv figure goes through many difficult evolutions on the wire during the Short hut thrilling act she provides in St. Leon’s enormous programme.
