AN EASY WIN.
(Received This Day at 10 40 a.m.) SYDNEY, Eeh. 17
The “Herald” says the final day of the fourth test was the poorest cricket of the series. The English attack was slack, as though they had no hope. The “Telegraph” remarks that there was nothing to say about the concluding stages, except that while Gregory Hit at anything, Ryder played the sort of cricket that .has driven people to Kew or Callan Park lunatic asylum. There was no excuse for it. Australia had the game won and lie could have walked into the bowling.
Douglas stated they were beaten thoroughly by the better side. He did not agree with those who said tHe luck was against them, though lie hoped they would hold the ball tighter when thc Australians visited England. Hornibrook has been recalled from New Zealand. He will probably he included in the fifth test with Mayne. It is probable sixteen players will tour England.
