The Duke, of Connaught’s visit culminated in a brilliant garden party and magnificent fireworks display, given by the ruling Princes. To signaliso the Duke’s visit, the M haraja of Scinda and Gwaliar has waived his claim to ( twenty-eight lakks of rupees due to him for war expenditure. The Duke, on behalf of the authorities gratefully accepted the gift. A PERSIAN BETHROTHAL. (Received This Day at 8.40 a.m.) DELHI, Feb.. 14. The betrothal of Mahamed Hassan, heir-apparent and brother of tho Shah of Persia, to Princess Melina, is officially announced.
