■ 1 BY TELEGRAPH —PER PRESS ASSOCIATION] Mlt MASSEY’S TOUR. CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 15. 31 r Massey bad an extremely busy time to-day in visiting the different parts of North Canterbury. Nearly 150 miles were covered on tour and at every township and settlement there was a demonstration of appreciation. Short addresses were, delivered by Mr Massey at several places, but be broke no new ground. Ho leaves for West Const by special train to-morrow. [
j WESTPORT WANTS A VISIT. j WESTPORT. February 15. i At a public meeting, presided over iby Mayor Menzies to-night it was j resolved to urge Mr Massey to extend his stay at Westport in view of the Government’s legislation last session taking over the Westport Harbour Board in April. The meeting was very enthusiastic and made preliminary arrangements for giving the Prime Minister a very cordial reception. The hope was expressed that he would- spare sufficient time for a run round all the district..
