ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. WEST COAST LAMBS SELL WELL. (By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs Matson and Co. report as follows regaiding their stock sale, yesterday : The beef entry was a good deal smaller. but included some excellent quality. The tone of the market, especially for best, sorts, was firmer. Rest steers £24 10s to £27 10s; prime £2O to £23 15s; medium £ls 5s to £l9 10s; others £IL 10s to £l4 15s. Cows and heifers sold at proportionately advanced rates. Store cattle.—A fair yarding, but most nondescript lots. The demand was very indifferent. Best bullocks £9 to £9 15s; 2-yr and 2J-yr steers £7 10s to £8 15s ; yearling steers £3 15s to £4 ss; M.S. yearlings £3 ss' to £3 12s (id; store cows £3 15s to £6 10s.

Mutton. - A very small yarding, and hardly sufficient for butchers’ requirements. The market opened considerably above the last sale but eased off towards tluj end of the sale. Best wethers went te 42s Gd; prime 31s Gd to 38s Gd; medium 23s Gd to 275. Fives went at the same proportion. Lambs were also firmer. A few West Coast lambs were offered in the fat pens, and sold well. Store sheep.--Another large yarding, principally lambs. Although no outstanding lambs were offering, the general tone of the lamb market was better and practically all were cleared at auction.

Best lambs went to 24s Gd; good 21s (id to 23s Gd; medium sorts, 17s to 21s; inferior and small, 14s to lGs Gd; wethers showed an improved demand -

the best making 21s to 265; 2-tooth 18s G to 22s 9d.

A few West Coast lambs sold well, making up to 23s sd. Not many ewes were offering.
