HAltl HARI STOCK SALE Messrs-Dalgety and Company limited hel dtheir first sale of stock at their yards at Hari Hari on Friday last. One hundred and ninety two cattle were yarded and 3(X) sheep and lambs and and every lot was cleared with the exception of a small line of lambs. The cattle yarded wore a particularly good lot, comprising a good line of heifers from Canterbury and amongst good steers offered there was a line of If) offered by Mr J. Deidrichs. Prior to the commencement of the sale Mr Lawrence the Company’s auctioneer at Christchurch made a few rein.i rks. He suggested that it would he in the host interests of the farmers if the sale dates were nominated by themselves, as by so doing, vendors and purchasers alike would he able to attend when there would be a full yarding. An invitation was also extended to any of the other firms to sell in the yards provided they abided by the rules of DalgcVy and Company, Ltd. Mr Christie the Company’s local auctioneer then proceeded with the sale and met with animated competition; as already mentioned all the cattle were
cleared under the hammer, and it can be stated that it was one of the most successful sales held in Hari Hari. The following are the results: — On account of F. Amor, 10 heifers at £0 15s, 10 at £8 2s fid, 4 at £6 12s fill, 10 at £lO 2s fid, 5 at £7 15s, 4 at £7, 1 at £5 ss, 10 at £6 7s fid, 10 at £7 8s fid, 1 bull at 41 guineas, one at £9. On account of Messrs Wilson and Corby, 12 steers at £7. On account A. Sutherland 2 steers and 2 heifers at £3 15s. On account C. Autheman 3 cows and calves £5 ss, 2 steers £5, 1 heifer £3 10s. On account P. Hansen, 1 stag £3 2s fid. On account Mrs Robinson, 5 steers at £6, 1 cow £4 15s. On account James Hende, 12 steers at £9 ss. On account J. Diedriehs, 19 steers at £l3 17s fid. On account Leo Haddock 9 steers at £B, 5 heifers £6 10s. On account W. Vifeske, 8 steers £G 15s, Searlo Bros 2 cows with calves 1 cow at £7 7s fid 1 fat cow at £9 12s fid. On account of client, 1 stag at £4 12s fid, 3 empty cows £6 17s fid, 1 18-mos steer £5 12s fid. On account W. Searle 2 fat cows at £B, 4 cows £7 12fc fid. On account A. Wall, 4 fat cows (a good line) £ll 10s. On account of Carl Hende, 62 lambs at 16s Bd, 72 ewes at ) 21s 6d, 1 ram at 2 guineas. II
