RZOSKA MURDER CASE

THE JURY’S VERDICT.
WELLINGTON, February 2
The trial concluded at the Supreme Court to-day of Frederick Thompsc n, a labourer, Carterton, charged w.tli murdering Anthony Rzoska, on November 20 last at Carterton.
Accused giving evidence on his own behalf, detailed his movements in eempanv with deceased and another nan on the day of the tragedy. Tiav'ng had a few drinks together, deceased became quarrelsome, and refused to go home when advised to do so'by accused. Rzoska followed accused to the iattov’s wharc, where there was a further quarrel. A revolver was lying on top of a meat safe. Both made a rush for it, and in the struggle for possession, the weapon accidentally discharged shooting Rzoska. Accused contended he tried to get possession of the revolver to prevent Rzoska using it against Irm. The jury returned a verdict of of Manslaughter.” with a recommend ! - tion to mercy on account of provocation that accused had received. P-'s-iiing of sentence wu-< deterred lill Saturday.
