LONDON, Feb 1. Captain King, country inspector of constabulary, was critically wounded, and his wife shot dead at Mallow railway station on Monday night, while awaiting the mail from Cork, lhc assailants also fired on the police arriving at tho station half an hour later. John Dillon in a statement with reference to the proposed agreement among Irish parties declining to accept the programme and methods of S' mi Fein, says he believes many who voted for Sinn Fein in 1918 have since changed their views, but the Government policy has been famed for the purpose of promoting disorder and strife and so exasperate and madden the pco pie. Mr Dillon believes in the ultimate triumph of the Parnellite principles. The first necessity is for both sides to return to civilised methods.
