A CHINAMAN’S SUICIDE.
TIMARU, Jan 29.
An inquest was held to-day into the death of Yepk Fid, a Chinese laundryman, who has been in business in Stafford Street, for four and who slashed bis throat with a razor yesterday afternoon. His father-in-law, who resided with him and went upstairs to f e t c h him to deal with customers found him on the floor in a pool of blood. The police and doctor were sent for, and tbo latter said the wind-pipe and arteries were severed. A verdict was returned accordingly. Deceased was about 43, and his wife and family are in China. The father-in-law said ke was in good spirits shortly before. Hq had never complained of ill-health. He was doing well in business, but was jn debt to witness and others for a few hundred pounds.
