Large parties of police have- been visiting dancing halls and and examining permits of visitors. Wholesale arrests have been made, some seven hundred suspects baling been already detained, including many Russians, Poles and Germans sympathising with Sinn Vein. The round-up continues.
The first meeting of Mr Lloyd George Lord Curzon and M. Briand was of a most cordial nature, and lasted for an hour and a half, in the waiting room
at the railway station. The crowd also gave a demonstration | welcoming the British party ; w-iieh included Messrs Hankey, Worthington ; and Evans. Belgian, Italian and Japanese delegates have also arrived. ” The conference opens on Monday ' morning. The German disarmament has first place on the agenda paper, the the question of reparations. . The German delegation is headed by Herr Bergman, who is now in Paiis. He is anxious to place before the conference a proposal by which two million gold marks will be handed to the Allies to he spread over five or six years, one quota being paid in gold and three in goods.
