The New South Wales Tennis team defeated Wellington by five matches to three yesterdhy. The visitors said that it was the hardest series that they had played in New Zealand* Singles—Peacock (Wellington) defeated N. Peacli (N.S.W.), f 4 6—4 Swanston defeated Watt, 6 —4, I—6, 6—3; Park lust to F. Peach, B—o, o—6; Allison lost to Henderson, 4—o, 4—6, 4—6, 4—(i. Doubles—Peacock and Swanston lost to Peach Brothers, 5—7, 5—7; Park and Allison lost to Hendersonund Watt (5 a, o—6, I—6; Peacock and Swanston defeated Henderson and Watt, g__o, ()_1 ; Park and Allison lost to Peach Brothers, 2—6, 4—6.
