ELECTRIC POWER QUESTION.

(To the Editor.) Sir —I am very glad to observe that Mt Birks is going to favour us with a lecture in the Town Hall this evening, and I do hope that the men and womenfolk and the young ones as well will make a point of attending. We want to take the measure of these eminent men in our service and know all that he can tell ns about this new power on which so many millions are being spend in New Zealand. Personally I will like to hear how it is that coal at £7B per ton is cheaper for heating purposes than electricity at 2d. per unit.— Yours etc., R. WILD.
