FIRE ENGINE SMASH
TWO FIREMEN KILLED. [jjY TELEGRAPH—I*ER PRESS ASSOCIATIONJ HAMILTON, January 20. As a fire engine carrying eleven men was proceeding to a fire, it tried to pass a motor lorry which was in the centre of the road. *The driver of the latter evidently did not hear the engine and kept straight on, and the engine in endeavouring to pass struck a bank with the result that It turned a complete somersault and the men were scattered in all directions. Albert Graham, aged 24, died on the way to the hospital. George Prince, 68, was removed to the hospital where his leg was amputated and he died three hours later. S. Dnckey, is at the hospital still un•onscious. Superintendent Archer has a broken collarbone, and others are seriously injured. Tho engine was badly smashed.
