ARAHURA SPORTS
The sports held in Ward’s paddock at Arahura on Wednesday proved to be a highly successful affair. There was a large attendance of the public from town and country. The following are the results of the sports:— Local Saw.— Blackmun and Mitchell 1, Hewlett and Martin 2. Open Saw. —Hewlett and Martin 1, Bernhard and H. Blackmun 2. Upright Chop.—R. Bradley 1, E. Mitchell 2. Local Chop.—R. Fluetv 1, B. Koeti 2. x Arahura Handicap Chop.—W. Blackmun, B. Koeti (dead heat) 1, Farmers Chop.—C. Cook I, H. Woods ■> Single Ladies’ Race. —T.. Muir 1. I>. Mills 2. Single Men’s Race.—o. Mason l, H. Woods 2. Married Ladies’ Race. —Mrs Freitas 1, Mrs Bell 2. Married Men’s Race.—G. Hewlett 1, W. Wilson 2. . Bicycle Race.—H. Blackmun 1, C. Finch 2. Stepping Competition.—D. Agnew. Single Ladies’ Race.'—B. Muir 1, R. Ward 2. The .sum of about £4 was spent on the children’s races. The Committee desire to thank Hie public for the donation of funds and the following donators of trophies:—Mr I. Brown, Ted Toohey, J. Breeze, J. Brockleliurst, S. Preston and "a sportsman,” and Mr B. Ward for the use of his paddock.
