ARAHURA FAT STOCK SALE

The first sale of the New Year at the above yards took place yesterday, the yarding comprising 199 sheep and 45 head of cattle. The usual attendance of buyers was present, while competition was fairly keen throughout prices showed a. considerable falling off compared with previous sales, beef running from 40s to 45s per hundred for cows and heifers ,while ox beef of which there was a very limited yarding made up to 48s. Messrs W. Jeffries and Co sold the followingSheep—-On account of N. Friend, 30 mixed ewes and wethers at 27s Gd. On account of Mr AY. H. Kara bach 110 fat wethers at 29s 3d. On account of Mr T. O' Neil, 54 prime heavy ewes and wethers at. 32s 3d.

Cattle.—On account of Mr Patrick, 2 blks. at £l9 2s 6d, 2 at £l7 los j 2 at £l7 10s, 2 at £l7; 1 prime heifer at £l3 2s (id. 3 at £lO 10s, 3 at £lO ss, 3 at £lO, 3at £9 os, 5 cows at £lO. On account of Mr J. Collett, 1 bill. at £l2, 1 at £ll 7s Gd, 2 at £lO 2s 6d, 1 stag at £B. 1 at £G, 1 light steer at £B. On account of Air AV. Olderog, 1 heifer at £ll 175.6 d, 2 at £lO, 1 at £9, 1 at £8 12s Gd, 1 cow at £lO, 1 sucker at £3 12s Gd. I steer at £lO.

Messrs G .AV. Moss and Co. -sold on account of Messrs H. N. Adamson and Co. I bullock at £l6 12s Gd, 1 at £ls 2s Gd, 1 cow at £ls os, 1 at £l4 15s, 2 at £l3 15s, 1 at £l2 7s Gd, 1 heifer at £l4 3 at £l3 17s Gd, 2 at £l3, 1 at £l4, 2 at £l3, 2at £l2 55,-1 at £l2 7s Gd. On account of J. Cropper, 1 cow at £9 7« Gd, 1 at £9.

Messrs M. Houston and Co. report:— At the above yards yesterday our entry consisted of 15 head of fat cattle, lhe usual buyers were in attendance and competition was keen, beef realizing to 50s per hundred. AA'e sold on account of AV. F. Diedriehs, 3 bullocks at £l6 12s fid, 2 at £l6 15s, 2 at £l4; on account of Diedrich’s Estate, 2 heifers at £ll 15s, 2 at £l2, 3 at £ll. 1 vealer at £7. COMMERCIAL.
