Carroll’s latest Australian motion picture is a drama of the sunfroughfc plains of Australia, its wide swept mountains of the enternal conflict between men for love of a woman, of tlie savagery, mystery and thrilling romance of a highwayman’s efforts to win out against his inevitable defeat All these elements are mingled in the playground of this seven reel story which is to bo shown at the Princess Tlwabrd to-night “The Shadow of Lightning Ridge" by virtue of its Australianism, remarkable photography and its impressive Australian background stands in a line with the best imported super production. “Snowy" Baker again plays lead and infuses bis virile Australian personality into this decidedly vigorous story. His feats of horsemanship- his fighting prowess I is daring under all requirements of the 1 scenario writer, and his real ability i f conveying dramatic (expression show even an improvement on his previous pictures. Miss Beronico Yore, the new Australian star is ideally cast as Portuguese Annie, and Miss Brownie V ;r----non as the heroine is a power to the film.
