GATHERING ON CASS SQUARE. | The West Coast Caledonian Societj uere favored with perfect weather for , 1 their sports gathering on Cass Square on New Year's Day. The attendance Mas large, a good many visitors coming from the north and the events were run off promptly, much interest being shown in the contests. As usual much interest was shown in the dancing events and these were eagerly watched throughout the afternoon. Th c Town Gaud and Ripe Band were present and enlivened the proceedings during the progress of the afternoon. The various officials were in attendance to their duties and the afternoon passed very plea-

THE CONCERT. In the* evening there was a good attendance at the Princess Theatre when a very enjoyable programme was rendered. The audience was in a happy mood, and the performers met with a warm reception throughout.
