SECOND DAY'S RESULTS

GREYMOUTH, Jan. 3
Tho second day’s meeting of the Greymouth Jockey Club was held on Saturday in ideal weather. The meeting constituted a record for the West Coast in three respects—attendance, tote receipts, and times. The -totalsator receipts totalled £15,952, as against £11,315 for the corresponding day last year. Tho investments on the Greymouth Cup reached the record sum of £2,743 10s. In the New Year Handicap Irish Elegance put up an attractive performance by running 5j furlongs in 1.9 3-5, thus creating a, new record for the track. Results:-
Telegraph Handicap.—Bestir 1, Bunny 2, Strelitza 3. Also started—Preludium, Goldpieee. Won nil the way. Time 1.15 3-5.
Flying Handicap.—Gold Problem 1, High Heels 2, Royal Dragoon 3. Also started —Koesian Trentham Rose, Merton and Zela. Won by a length. Greymouth Cup.—Tiranga 1, Cheer Up 2, Castellan 3. Also started Comment, Grekson, Chaeronia, Steepliolm and Grand Dueliy. Won comfortably. Time 2.11 4-5.
Blackball Handicap.—Lady Gazelcy 1, Bomb 2, Tantalus 3. Also started— Perrier, Lady Middleton and Kolyma. Won easing up by four lengths. Time 1.18.
Second Hurdles.—War Tax Eron Roy 2, Zela 3. Also started —Master Boris, May Morn and Silver Shield. Won by half a, length. Time 3.52 1-5. Now Year Handicap. Irish Elegance 1, Sleepy Head 2, Sans Souci 3. Also started—Royal Dragoon. Won fairly easy. Time 1.9 3-s—a record for the track.
Higli Weight Handicap.—Ahikn 1, Eabisco 1, Lady Middleton 3. Also started—Perrier, Recorder, Divorce, Grand Duchy, Xanthos, Mickey Free, Footlights and Woodrow. Ahikn and Fabiseo passed the post locked together. Tho jtidge' declared a dead heat. Time 1.30 2-5.
