Under the new regime of martial law in Ireland there lias not been much response in the way of delivering arms, but arms and ammunition of various kinds have been picked up in back streets, and on waste lands, the owners ridding themselves in this way in preference to .handing them up. The authorities’ finds include shells, bombs, old spear-heads, daggers, automatics and revolvers. MILITARY RAIDS. LONDON, Dec. 29. The police and military have paid further extensive domiciliary visits to Dublin, in Parnel Square. They have made about twenty arrests so far. ANOTHER AMBUSH. (Received This Day at 11.30 a.in.) LONDON, Dec 30. A strong civilian force ambushed a constabulary patrol at Middleton, County Cork. Constable Mullins was instantly killed and six wounded, some critically. The civilian casualties are unknown.
