WEDDING BELLS
ALDO—BLANK. A wedding of unusual interest was celebrated at tlie Presbyterian Church, Hokitika 0 n Wednesday Dec. 29t1i., the Rev. P. B. Fraser M.A., officiating. The contracting parties were Mr Sam Aldo, | of Christchurch and Evelyn M., eldest ! daughter of Mr and Mrs*G. H. Blank, l of Stafford Street .Hokitika. The bride looked charming as she entered the !*church on the arm of her father. She i wore a frock of ivory crepe de chine. ■' furnished with georgette trimmings. She also wore the orthodox wreath of orange : blossoms and veil and carried a pretty I bouquet of white flowers and maiden ! hair fern. She was attended by her i sister (Miss L. Blank) and cousin, (Miss I. Higginson of Christchurch). The former wore a pretty apricot coloured crepe de chine frock trimmed with | mauve, and lace leghorn hat relieved with apric-ots and mauve and carried a 1 pretty bouquet. The latter wore a I similar dress and hat, only in salmon . pink and carried a pretty bouquet. Miss’Mtiriel Blank, (flower girl) wore a white ore lie de chine ' frock, with a wreath of mauve and white flowers on her head, and Master Sydney Blank (pane boy) wore a white silk suit. Both flower-girl (sister) and page (brother) of the bride, carried crooks decorated with flowers and ribbons to match the dresses of the bridesmaids. The bride_ groom was attended by Mr Con Bqrendt I as best man and Air James Brown as groomsman. The church had been specially decorated for the happy event, and a large wedding bell hung in front of tho altar.' After the ceremony a large number of guests were entertained at Preston’s tea rooms where tlie usual toasts were honoured. In the evening a number of guests were also dat the residence of the bride. The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a gold brooch set with pearls, and to the bridesmaids gold brooches set with rubies and pearls, and to the flower girl and page brooches also. The bride’s present to the bridegroom was a set of military brushes. Tlio happy couple were the recipients of numerous presents including several cheques. They left by the evening train for Christchurch where their future home will he. The bride travelled in a grey costume and biscuit coloured hat, trimmed with blue. They carry with them tho hearty gooff wishes of a wide circle of friends for their future happiness.
