RUTHERFORD V. JARVIS.

A boxing carnival, under the auspices of the Northern Boxing Association, was opened this evening at tlie Town Hall, in tlie presence of the GovernorGeneral. The chief event of the evening was A fifteen round professional light-weight bout between M. Rutherford and B. Jarvis for a purse-of £2OO. The bout ended in the thirteenth round. Jarvis being disqualified for repeatedly hitting low. It was a good contest Until the infringement occurred, though Rutherford had .been responsible for most of the aggressive ivork.
