JAPAN’S FINANCE. n\- TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSN., COPYRIGHT. reuter’s telegrams. (Received This Day at 9.45 a.m.) TOKIO, December 26. The Minister of Finance announces the Budget estimate totalling an income of 1250 millions yen ordinary, and 325 million yen extraordinary. The expenditure is estimated at 1562 million yen. The army totals 263 million, an increase of fifty million yen and navy expenditure 498 million yen, an increase of fifty two millions yen. Other items correspond closely with last budget. The minister presenting tlie figures to a caucus of peers-, said every effort would be made to ensure frugality, while the greatest amounts possiblo within the financial scope of the State allows. Such enterprise seemed most essential for the development of tlie national power. The Premier addressing the Caucus of the Lower House said in compiling the Budget, Government’s guiding policy was an increase of national strength. RAIN IN WELLINGTON. WELLINGTON, December 28. A light drizzle set in last evening and developed into a steady downpour lasting all night. It is still raining lightly and apparently will continue all day.
