SYDNEY, December 29. • The city is crowded with visitors. The Christmas trade is heavy, despite the extreme prices. The morning paper was published on Christmas Day, but not to-day. The heat wave, which has prevailed for the past week, was broken to-day by cool sliowers. The outlook for the holiday is dubious. MELBOURNE FIRE. MELBOURNE, December 27. A fire destroyed the Brunswick Technical College. There was heavy damage. A HEAT WAVE. (Received this day at 9.30 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. During tlie week-end a heat wave was responsible for fourteen deaths in the city,
