It is indicated that a now JapaneseAinericnn treaty may negative tlie recently passed Californian anti-Japanese laws, but it is believed tlie same result may he achieved by laws prohibiting ownership of land in California by aliens. This is expected to produce dissatisfaction on the part of many foreign interests, who control oil lands and other properties.
