THE DAVIS CUP

AUCKLAND, Dec. 21

Both the Davis Cup teams used the special court in the Domain for practice games to-day. The Australian team played oil the court in the morning, and the Americans in the afternoon. It was the first time the Americans had used the court, and they stated that they were well pleased with it. The Australasian team played a singles match and a doubles match. Patterson practised with O’Hara AVood and the two afterwards played against Brookes and Heath'. The Americans played singles, Tilden practising with Johnson and Hardy with Washburn. It is understood that the teams will concentrate from now on on the Davis Cup court, and will not play any games, elsewhere.

On Thursday the teams will I unci with thc Governor-General at Government Houso.
