WARSHIPS COLLIDE. OTTAWA, Dec. 22. " The cruiser Aurora, and the des-troyer-Patrician and Patriot have been presented to Canada by the Imperial Government. They have arrived at Halifax. An unfortunate accident marred their official reception. The Patrician rammed the Aurora as, the vessels I entered tho harbour, tearing a hole in | the cruiser’s bow. WOMEN JURORS IN ENGLAND. LONDON, Dec. 22. Women jurors will appear in high court cases for the first time next January. This includes juries in divorce cases. .Of divorce cases there are nearly 2000 petitions in and, these mostly are undefended. BYE-ELECTION RESULTS. LONDON, Dec. 22. Tho bye-election for Abortillory resulted:— Barker (Labour) 15,492 Hay Morgan (Coalition) ..... 7,852 The bye-election for West Rhondda resulted:—. John (Labour] 14,035 i Rowlands (Coalition) 9,959 A DENIAL, LONDON, Dec 22. The Treasury denies tho reported abandonment of the excess profits duty. BANK MANAGER CHARGED. LONDON, Dec 22. Farrow has been brought to London and charged at the Mansion House and remanded on bail of £28,000.
