The Ministry of Munitions in publishing details of the wool realisation scheme, states the Minister is very carefully studying the very important proposals, hut dees not intend to recommend Government to adopt a course likely to lead to the formation of a trust or combine, which would adversely affect the interests of tlie cqnsumer or British trade.

Lord Birkenhead announced that tlie time was not ripe for the institution of an Imperial Court of Appeal. He said the Judicial. Committee of the Privy Council sfTould be installed in worthy buildings. He added that arrangements were being made to strengthen the Indian representatives on the Committee, by providing more adequate remuneration for Indian Judges. Indian work exceeded that of all other Dominions.
AVIATION TRAGEDY. LONDON, Dec. 14. A Handley Page machine crashed when starting from Cricklewood for Paris. The pilot, mechanic, and two passengers Were killed. Four other passengers 'escaped. This is the first accident to the Handley; Page Continental Services, of which there are fifteen, and which have covered 320 thousand miles and carried 4000 passengers. BILLIARDS. LONDON, Dec. 15. In the billiards match, Hooper scored the two thousand when Christey was 994. Hooper thus won easily. Ho had no need to extend himself. He made breaks of 49, 48, 56, and 33, unfinished. Christey’s best breaks were 85 and 46. HOUSING RELIEF. LONDON, Dec 15.
The rejection of the Health Bill by the Houso of Lords has caused some sensation in political circles. It inconveniences the Government by making it impossible for them to pay the increased subsidies on new houses after tho end of the year.
The Lords rejected, by 57 votes to 41 tho second reading of this Bill, introduced by the Minister of Health, and containing miscellaneous provisions. The Lords protested that they were given insufficient time to consider its complexities. SHIPPING MOVEMENTS. (Received This Day. at 9.45 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 15. (Received This Day at 10.35 a.m.) DET/HI, December 15. Another railway smash occurred in Mandras province, near Bnngalor. A mail train collided with a goods train. Thirty native passengers were killed and thirty-five injured.
