SYDNEY, Dec. 14 The cricket match New South Wales Colts against tho Englishmen commenced on No. 2 ground on a soft, tricky wicket, favouring the bowlers. Douglas won the toss, and sent the Colts in. The howlers were using sawdust to keep a footing. The Colts first innings only produced eighty-four, Waddington taking 8 wickets, for 35. In their first innings England has two wickets down for 4.22. Hobbs made 64. Hendren is not out with the big score of 203. Hearne is not out with 125. When the Englishmen batted the wicket had greatly improved. Hot weather with drying winds dried the wicket. It is now expected the heat will put tlie test wicket in first class condition for Friday.
