CORK OUTRAGES DISCUSSED. ' LONDON, Deoember 13. In the House of Commons, Commander Kenworthy moved the adjournment to discuss the Cork outrages. The House negatived Command 1 * Kenwortliy’s motion. Commander Kenworthy said—He had evidence that the outrage in Cork were duo to the Officers and to the Crown Forces.- The soldiers had been committing' murders nightly in Cork city Hundreds of the shops had been loo; - ed. Citizens had been publicly whipped. Replying in Parliament to Commander Kenworthy, Sir H. Greenwood, Secretary Jor Ireland, said that martial law meant the earnest discipline of the Forces of Hie®Crown. ..As a matter of fact, soldiers saved Cork from absolute destruction, for when the Cork Fire Brigade became exhausted, soldiers and police took over their wove. There was no evidence that the police had caused the fires, except in a few instances, where bombs wore thrown in a lorry. * LOOTING STARTS IN CORK. I LONDON, (December 13. . Replying to Mr Lloyd George’s letter jFather O’Flannaghan- said it is accessary' for him to consult Griffiths and De Valera before expressing an opinion regarding the possibility of practical progress on the lines indicated.
A STRINGENT ORDER . (Received This Day at 9.45 a.m.) LONDON, December 14. Sir R. Maeready has issued a proclamation requiring all arms and ammunition in the proclaimed areas ®to be handed in by the 27th. The penalty of disobeyance of the order will be, death.
