A-large number of townspeople taking advantage of the beautiful afternoon, visited the Westland Hospital yesterday, where the Municipal Band, 23 strong under the baton of Mr Chns. Ross (conductor) rendered a splendid musical programme. During the afternoon the staff entertained the bandsmen at afternon tea, when Matron Little thanked the Band for its visit to the institution where the music was very much appreciated by both the patients and staff. It is the intention of the Band to apply to the Superintenden of the Mental Hospital for permission to visit that institution next Sunday.
