BIG, GOLD NUGGET(Received This Day at 8.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, Dec. 10. A gold nugget weighing 151 ounces, has been found- in Bathhurst district. RETRENCHING. SYDNEY, Dec. 10. In viyw of the reduction of the personnel of the Australian NaVy and consequent need of fewer officers, and also the necessity for retrenchment, the question of closing Jervis Bay Naval College or the adoption of a scheme to include the training of naval aviators and mercantile marine officers is under consideration. One suggestion is that arrangements for training New Zealand cadets at the college, which fell through owing to the War, be revised. The “Herald” says New Zealand is buildinn- up its own naval reserve, and possibly negotiations will be entered on for training her officers at the college^
