GENERAL CABLES.

UTSTHAI.IAN Jt N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION]

THE IMPERIAL WOOL. LIONDON, December 8. A report of the Ministry of Munitions says the value of the Ministry’s Australian and New Zealand wool, at cost price, is approximately sixty millions. This comprises 2,500 bales of which about half is in England, or in transit. It says that at present the extremely difficult position of the wool trade renders, a forced realisation of this sixty millions worth impracticable, and would ruin the. entire woollen trade in this country if attempted quite apnrt from the fact that Australia and New Zealand are interested in the fits realised from the sale of the Government wool. Thus a complete liquidation of colonial wool cannot be effected for some time to come. JAP FLEET READY.
