TOKOMIRO MURDER
I ’ ANDERSON FOUND INSANE,

HAMILTON, December 7 At the Supremo Court, William Anderson was charged with the murder of Frederick Henry Telfer at Tokoiniro on October 14th. When the case was called, the Crown Solicitor intimated that the Crown case would he that prisoner was insane, and the jury would he directed by the Chief Justice to faring in a. verdict of not guilty on the grounds of insanity. James Loft and Herbert Hedley Loft gave evidence to the shooting, on lines of their evidence in the Lower Court and Dr. Murray, in charge of Mt. Eden Gaol Hospital and Dr Tysar Mcditfil- Superintendent of Avondale, stated the prisoner was suffering from detentional insanity.. This condition was not merely temporary but was <4 ji permanent nature. He was under -he impression of being constantly persecuted. Tile Jury, without retiring, relumed a verdict of not guilty, on the grounds of Insanity, and prisoner was committed to ML Eden Gaol Hospital, there to. await the instructions of the Minister.
