The Commission appointed by the Government in connection with Greymouth Harbour affairs'will visit Greymouth about the second week in January, 1921. An unfortunate accident, involving the loss of a motor car owned by Mr H. H. Smith of Greymouth occurred at Paroa about 7 o’clock on Wednesday evening. Procuring a bucket and a shovel from a house near-by they threw water , and earth on to the car but without ’ result. Then, with the idea of saving a portion of the car they pushed it into a pond near Mr Stevenson’s residence.. The car was wrecked completely. There was no insurance on the car, which was 1 a fine Chevrolet. The loss to Mr Smith will therefore bb heavy.
