En route to the farm, So'uthard stops the car in which they are travellihg outside Randall’s Road House, a notorious inn, and induces Elizabeth to enter. Here he plies her with champagne and accomplishes her downfall. Elizabeth leaves and becomes a woman of the streets. One evening, Mrs Traverse prevails upon Harry Hammond, a wealthy young broker devoted to Agnes to accompany Agnes and herself to a Salvation Army meeting in the slums. Harry is bored !ahd leaves in the middle of the meeting, saying he will wait for them outside. Here, he is attracted by a. screncm and rushed to the aid of a woman being assaulted by two ruffians. This woman is Elizabeth but he fails to recognise her. The men turn upon Harry and beat him into insensibility after which they carry him away and place him aboard a freighter, which sails for France the next morning, The cast includes some of the world’s greatest motion picture artists, among them being Catherine Calvert, Eugene O’Brien, Ruby de Remer, Theodore Roberts and Robert Anderson.
