Thp Royal Commission enquiring into the Parliamentarians’ salaries recommends that (hey he increased to £BSQ yearly for ordinary mem hers; and £ISOO for Ministers, with the exceptions of the Chief Secretary and tho Attor-ney-General, who are increased to £IBOO, and the Premier to £2500. Oats are quoted: Tasmanian South Australian and Algerian (feed), 3s to 3s 3d per bushel, milling 3s 3d to 3s 4d, white 4s to 4s 3d, maize 7s to 7s 9d, Queensland ! 7s 3d. Potatoes new £9 a ton, Tqsmanian old £l2, Victorian old £B. Onions, Victorian £l2 10s to £l3 per ton . At Adelaide oats are nominally (growers’ lots) of new season’s, Is 9d per bushel.'

Mr Andrew Fisher’s term as High Commissioner for Australia has been extended for tfiree months. Ho will be granted leave on full pay, from January to April, during which time Senator Millen will probably administer Australia House in the capacity of Resident Minister.

The Food Controller in a speech, stated the world’s prices had been re-ad-justed, giving q better indication of the probable courso of the prices of foodstuffs and commodities generally than any other article. There was a hall -in wheat prices in America and Australia. This marked the commencement of a real change in the economic situation, and definite power to level food prices would prevail in Britian during 1921. Rationing of sugar would cease on the 29th of November. MELBOURNE, Nov 25.

The Irishmen at Rochdale in Lancashire, have arranged a big reception for Archbishop Mannix to-night, when lie is speaking there. There was to be a torchlight procession and an overflow meeting.
Tlie lafter hqd to be abandoned owing to the police interrupting. A single meeting will ho held now in Roehdalo to-niglxt.
