BOWLING.
A meeting of the general committee of tile Hokitika Bowling Club was held iast evening in the pavilion. The President (Mr R. S. Galbraith) presided, members present being Messrs W. Wilson, Braddon, J. H. Wilson, Stewart, Hickson, Benjamin, Bain, Stevenson, Berry, Feddersen and Nalder (Hon. See). The previous minutes were confirmed.
Correspondence was read from the Executive of the West Coast Bowling Association stating that the resolution passed at the annual meeting, whereby the annual tournament was fixed to be held at Greymouth in January next, bad been rescinded, and it had been resolved to ask the Hokitika Club to take this year’s tournament at Hokitika. After discussion it was resolved to reply stating the Club did not desire to take the tournament this season, but would be prepared to take the tournament the following season, if the Executive so desired.
The Grey Club wrote inviting the Hokitika Club to send a team to Greymouth at an early date to play a game for the Ballinger Buckles, and also' enquiring as to the possibility-of having a game for Wednesday players. It was resolved to accept the invitation, and to send a team to Greymouth on Saturday, Dec. 4th, and to offer to receive a four rink team at Hokitika on Wednesday, Dec. Ist. In connection with a proposal to form a Ladies Croquet ■ Clftib it was resolved after discussion that tke Club give every possible support to the movement and that in the event of a Croquet Club being formed, the use for the present season be given of two rings on the green with the use of the pavilion. The meeting then terminated.
