At the Warden’s Court, Kumara on Wednesday before Warden Orr-Walker, the applications of Kumara Sawmill Company (Mr Sellers), for four renewals of timber reservations, were granted, and of W. M. Steele (Mr Wells) for protection for six months for sawmil llicenso, was granted for four months. All the applications were adjourned.

At tho Magistrate’s Court, Eumnra on Wednesday, before Mr Orr-Walker S.M., three first offenders, charged with being on licensed premises (Commercial Hotel Kuinara) during prohibited hours’were convicted and fined 40s and 7s costs each. Police charges against R. Birkin (licensee of the Commercial Hotel) of failing to admit the police, and three charges of aiding and abetting persons unlawfully on licensed premises, and against Mary Birkin (w’ife of licensee) of obstructing the police, were adjourned for hearing at Hokitika on Dec. 3rd.
