Haddocks was the cleverer and faster fighter, hut Maplestone was plucky though groggy when the fight was stopped. Haddocks won easily. Light weights—Desmond 9.6) knock-
od out Kane (Victoria) 9.6, in the third round. The winner was much cleverer. Both were tired when Desmond crossed a right to the jaw. Welters—Hungerford (Queensland) 9.11), defeated Lawless 10.6) on points. The Judges disagreed and the referee gave the verdict to Hungerford. It was a close fight. Lawless won the first two rounds. His attacks were always cleverer, but gameness won the fight for Hungerford. Heavies—MoLeary 11.9, knocked out Hobbs (Queensland) 12.10); in the second round. Hobbs was down in the first round and twice in the seoond.
