Afuing the past two days the fire Jffight has spread perceptibly among the orchards close to Auckland, and growers are apprehensive that it will destfoy the whole of the pip fruit this season, if something is not done immediately to check the progress of the disease. Until Sunday the commcicial orchards were quite clear of trouble, but suspicious symptoms have now been located in trees growing close to commercial orchards in the Henderson district. Orchardists and Departmental inspectors are doing everything possible to cope with the outbreak and a meeting of those concerned will be held to-morrow to formulate some definite plan of campaign against the disease.

They appreciate “Baxter’s” —it’s so pleasant to take, and they know how it rids that ‘nasty cold’ from the system, soothes sore throat and strengthens the lungs. Get a large 2s 6d bottle of Baxter’s Lung Preserver from your chemist, or grocer. Get it now and keep it handy.
