BOWLING CARNIVAL
With a view to raise funds to assist the finances of the local Bowling Club, lady friends have kindly arranged to carry out a Bowling Carnival on tho local green on Saturday afternoon next from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. There will be various and many competitions to interest and amuse onlookers and players alike, including drawing and driving competitions for bowlers, croquet competitions, putting competitions for golfers, quoits and other pastimes. Afternoon tea will be available, while the ladies will run a produce stall in which there will bo much to attract, including home-made cakes, pastry, jams etc. At a meeting last evening the arrangements for the carnival were completed. Donations of trophies for the various competitions were received with thanks from Mesdames Stewart and Galbraith and Messrs Stewart, Galbraith and Thompson. Given a fine afternoon, a large attendance and pleasant function should result. The action of the lady supporters is much appreciated by the Club and the hearty support of the general public is hoped for to make the function tho success it deserves.
