Mr Griffith has written to the Lord Mayor pf Cork advising that nine hunger strikers in Cork gaol he asked to cease fasting, as they have proved their willingness to die for Ireland. SINN FEIN ENDEAVOUR. (Received this day at 8 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 14. Sir Hamar Greenwood declares. Sinn Feiners in a murderous endeavour to i smash the Empire and weaken the Anglo-American friendship are exposing south-west Ireland to anarchy and ruin. The stoppage of the railways implied the stoppage of the payment of old age and other pensions, now depend- , cut on mail deliveries. Irish and British Governments are anxious to restore normal conditions, but no Government can allow* railwayinen subsidised by the taxpayers to refuse to carry police and soldiers. FURTHER OUTRAGES. (Received -this day at 8 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 14. A motor car travelling from Tipperary, was ambushed, two policemen being killed and four wounded. Details of the ambush near Tralee, cabled' on the 13th, shows the civilians ; included journalists and cinema operators! The latter filmed the scene during the fierce fight. The escort consisted of an ex-officer and cadets, all of whom were under fire in the great war. They jumped out and routed the ambushers. The Sinn Feiners, who were heavily reinforced from a Republican battalion in the vicinity reattacked, hut were again repelled. According to another account the lorries containing uniformed men, approached the creamery where farmers and others had assembled for business. The latter rushed in a panic to the fields where they took refuge, the uniformed men pursuing, and opening fire, killing Hurlihy, the submanager of the creamery, McMahon, a farmer, and wounding three severely. SINN FEIN-ERS AT CORK. LONDON, November 13. The sinn Feiners imprisoned at Cork have put up a record fast. They have been hunger striking against being treated as criminals for political charges and have been without eating for ninety four days. The latest report states they are now eating. Their fast is an astonishing one.
