R. PROPOSED REVISION OF CUSTOMS TARIFF. IT IS HEREBY NOTIFIED for public information that it is propos ed to make inquiries during, the recess with a view to revising the Customs Tariff during the session of 1921. All persons making contracts for the delivery of imported goods, either subject to duty or which may become ; subject to' duty, should protect themselves either (1) by introducing therein ! a clause governing possible change of I duty, or (2) by giving immediate notice where contracts are already n force, or, where there are running contracts, that, in the event of alteration of the duty, the provisions of Section 130 of the Customs Act, 1913, must apply. | It is proposed to amend this Section to cover alteration not only in the liability of goods to duty or the rate oi duty, but also in the amount of duty, r Copies of Section 130 referred to above will be supplied on application to the nearest Collector of Customs. j W.
