At the Supreme Court, Christchurch ou Wednesday, before Mr Justice Herdman, in Chambers, his Honor, on the application of the defendant made an order, by consent, for the trial in W. H. Robinson v. Robert Whiley and his wife to be.heard at Hokitika at the sittings of the Court here in March next. The action (Ys to recover the sum of £4500 for alleged breach of contract in connection with defendant’s offer to sell the output of his timber mill to plaintiff. Costs £2 2s were allowed the defendant, against the plaintiff. Word was received to-day conveying the sad news that Mr Ernest P. Hatch, son of Mr and Mrs, George Hatch of Sewell Street had passed away at the Christchurch sanatorium. The deceased, who was a native of this district saw active service during the war, the after effects of which have resulted in his death. Deceased leaves a widow, to whom and the members of the family, the deepest sympathy of the community will be extended.
