HAMILTON, Nov. 11. ! A poll on a loan of two hundred thousand for reticulating Waikato Central hydro-electrical power board area, • was carried by 514 to 20. LABOR CONFERENCE. WELLINGTON, Nov. 11. The National Conference called by the Alliance of Labour concluded' today. The Conference arrived at a decision by which it is hoped that tho workers of New Zealand will be grouped into one association, which will provide facilities for a better system of industrial organisation for wage earners of the - Dominion. The conclusions will be submitted to the various organisations represented at the conference. GISBORNE WATERSIDE. GISBORNE, Nov. 11. There was no alteration in the position of the Waterside deadlock up till noon to-day. The employers received letter from the Union, claiming that owing to the dispute only involving four men, that a whole union lockout was unjust. Tho employers had power through the Arbitration Act to deal with these men. * They maintained the employers had committeed a breach of the agreement by the locking out of members, who were not concerned hi the dispute and hoped they would remedy same in order to allow uninterested members to proceed to work. Tho employers reply states the men concerned should have continued their work and referred the matter to the proper authorities for settlement. The terms of agreement laid down specific conditions which members of the union were not carrying out. If the terms of clause 45 were complied with, and the men or four others resume work on the j Fairburn, work also will be resumed | on all vessels forthwith. < Tho Ripple is still at the wharf. No attempt was made to work the Marawa’s cargo last night.
