tes play. When 182, Hearno lifted Phillips’ to midotf, and the tea adjournment followed ,with the score at 3 wickets for 468. Hearno had been brilliant since lunch. His score included twenty, two boundaries. 500 did not take long to appear. When Hcndren was 79, he jumped out to one from Smith, missed, and was stumped by Ambler. Parkin got out in a similar manner, almost immediately. The innings was then declared at 5 wickets for 512. Pellew and Smith for South Australia, put on fifty in thirty-five" minutes.
